Hi, I'm trying to use a Dell 3007WFP monitor with an Asus Zenbook UX32VD laptop. The only input on the Dell monitor is DVI and the only outputs on the laptop are HDMI and mini VGA. I've bought the following HDMI to DVI cable from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000GDI6FC/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

However when I connect the monitor the only resolution I get is 1280x800. This monitor should support resolutions up to 2560x1600. I've tried running the CustomModeApp to configure a custom resolution with the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel but for any resolution above 1280x800 the monitor just goes blank.

I understand there are some limitations with HDMI but this page suggests the laptop should output 1080p. Is there anything I can do to get a higher resolution on the monitor. Did I buy the wrong cable?
